Just two people in the industry catching up. And it took about five minutes for both of us to admit the same thing: it's really quiet out there right now. Not scary-quiet like a crash. Just flat. Nobody at work is talking about the future anymore. People are mostly glad their paycheck came through, heads down, not really sure what's coming next. So let me just say it, because pretending gets tiring. This bear market is rough, and it's probably not ending soon. I know that's not what you want to hear from someone in crypto. We're always supposed to say we're early and the good times are right around the corner. But look around honestly. Regulation keeps getting delayed. Wallets that were meant to be the safest place to keep your money got drained. Something gets hacked or leaked almost every week. If you were a normal person with money to invest, you'd probably stay away too. And that's the real problem. Picture someone with money to put to work. They can buy stocks. They can ride the AI wave, which has been easy money lately. Or they can buy gold and sleep just fine. Why would they choose crypto, where nothing is clear and half of what gets said sounds like a foreign language? Honestly, a lot of that confusion is our own fault. We take simple things and explain them in complicated ways to sound smart, when half the time we don't fully understand them ourselves. No wonder regular money stays out. So no, there's no big wave of money about to rush in and lift your coins back to where you bought them. If your whole plan is to hold and hope, I hate to say it, but hoping isn't a plan. And it isn't happening anytime soon. Okay. I've probably ruined your mood. Good. Now the part that actually matters. --- This might be the best thing that could happen to you. Because the quiet clears people out. The ones who were only here to get rich quick are already leaving. What's left behind are the serious people. The ones who actually understand money, who've seen how broken the current system is, and who genuinely want to build something better. And here's the interesting part. They're not building the flashy stuff. They're building the boring stuff. The stuff that actually matters. Payments. While everyone's been staring at charts, the real work has been happening quietly in the background. Big names like Visa, Mastercard and PayPal, companies that have run on the same systems for forty years, are working out what the next version looks like. And a lot of it runs on crypto. Not crypto the casino. Crypto as the plumbing underneath everything. Built so well that in ten years, normal people will use it every day without even knowing a blockchain is involved. That's not a dream. It's being built right now, while it's quiet. The lambo-and-moon-coin days are fading. Honestly, good. What's coming is less fun to talk about and far more important. So here's the simple question for you. If you believe in this, then really commit. Find the one thing you think will still be here in a few years, and put your energy into it. Not your hope. Your actual time and effort. And if you can't? If you're being honest and you're really just here waiting for the next paycheck, refreshing prices, hoping something changes? That feeling is worth listening to. It's a quiet nudge to ask yourself a real question: what do you actually want to do with your time and energy here? That's a much better use of a slow market than sitting still and calling it patience. And if it helps, keep it simple. A few things are likely to still be standing a few years from now: stablecoins, the infrastructure underneath, and real ownership of real things. That's more or less the list. We don't need another new blockchain. We don't need another shiny story that falls apart the moment you look closely. We just need the boring, useful things people actually use. --- And honestly, that's why I'm writing this at all. Going forward, this is one of the things I want to do here. Just share the bits and pieces I come across in this space, day to day. What I'm reading, what I'm noticing, what I'm still trying to figure out myself. Part journal, part thinking out loud. I'm not doing it to sound like an expert. I'm doing it because writing helps me make sense of things, and because maybe, somewhere, one person reads it and walks away with something useful.
